Steve Hwang, Executive Director, Board of Directors
Steve is one of the founders of ABC. He is in charge of overseeing daily operations and setting organizational and program strategy. Previously Steve worked for the investment bank Goldman Sachs for more than seven years in New York, in commercial real estate and as a trader for a proprietary desk. Steve received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Northwestern University. From Chicago, he currently lives in Beijing. 

Judy Shen, Director, Board of Directors
Judy is the Director of our Talent programs which she began in 2006 under the name CAI, from the Chinese character 才 which means “talent.” Moved by the plight of migrant children in China, Judy set up CAI in Beijing while doing her Fulbright Scholarship. She now advises on our migrant children program, is involved in setting up new programs and maintains strategic relations with sponsors and donors. Judy used to be a corporate attorney and has an Associate Bachelors from University of Chicago and a Juris Doctorate from University of Pennsylvania Law School. She lives in California. 

Stephen Chiu, Director, Board of Directors
Stephen leads strategic planning and identifies partnership opportunities for ABC. Stephen Chiu has twelve years of experience in corporate strategy, financial operations, and management consulting in healthcare, government, financial services, and international development. Currently, as the Senior Strategic Advisor for Public-Private Partnerships at World Vision, Stephen builds partnerships between corporations, governments, and civil society. Previously, as Senior Finance Officer, he oversaw financial management of $120M in annual funding from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies for 175 projects across 36 countries. Prior to World Vision, Stephen worked in corporate strategy at Fannie Mae and management consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Perot Systems. Stephen received an M.B.A. from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and an A.B. from Harvard College.

Scott Friedman, Director, Board of Directors
Scott shares a deep fundamental belief that all children deserve a fair shot at life, and is committed to making the belief come true for millions of children around the globe. Scott Friedman is a Co-Founding Partner at Soroban Capital Partners, multi-billion dollar global investment firm, and is Head of Trading and Risk Management.  Before Soroban Capital Partners launched, Scott was the Head Trader at TPG-Axon Capital. He joined TPG-Axon in 2006, and traded across asset classes and all parts of the capital structure globally; including equities, fixed income, commodities, foreign exchange, derivatives, swaps and environmental credits. Prior to joining TPG-Axon, Scott was a Multi-Product Trader in the Goldman Sachs Risk Arbitrage & Principal Strategies Group. Scott started his career in 2001 at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as an Analyst in Trading. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a BS in both International Economics and Finance.  Scott is a CFA charter holder, a FRM (Financial Risk Manager) charter holder, a NYSSA (New York Society of Security Analysts) member and a GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) member.
