Steve Hwang, Executive Director, Board of Directors
Steve is one of the founders of ABC. He is in charge of overseeing daily operations and setting organizational and program strategy. Previously Steve worked for the investment bank Goldman Sachs for more than seven years in New York, in commercial real estate and as a trader for a proprietary desk. Steve received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Northwestern University. From Chicago, he currently lives in Beijing.

Stephen Chiu, Director, Board of Directors
Stephen leads strategic planning and identifies partnership opportunities for ABC. Stephen Chiu has twelve years of experience in corporate strategy, financial operations, and management consulting in healthcare, government, financial services, and international development. Currently, as the Senior Strategic Advisor for Public-Private Partnerships at World Vision, Stephen builds partnerships between corporations, governments, and civil society. Previously, as Senior Finance Officer, he oversaw financial management of $120M in annual funding from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies for 175 projects across 36 countries. Prior to World Vision, Stephen worked in corporate strategy at Fannie Mae and management consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Perot Systems. Stephen received an M.B.A. from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and an A.B. from Harvard College.

Zadok Huang, Corporate and Foundation Relations
Zadok has been with ABC for more than 3 years, first as a volunteer and now full-time staff. Zadok helps oversee program and corporate and individual sponsorship development. Prior to ABC, he worked as a research analyst for JL McGregor & Company, a China-focused research firm, also in Beijing and as an analyst at a boutique investment bank in Stamford, CT. Zadok graduated from the University of Arizona with a Dual-degree in finance and east asian studies. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and currently lives in Beijing.

Jennifer Kim, Program Director
Jennifer provides programmatic leadership and strategic oversight for ABC and manages its staff and daily operations. Prior to joining ABC, she worked for Child and Family Services Agency in Washington, D.C., on behalf of children, youth and families in need of foster care and adoption services for over 7 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and sociology from the University of Virginia, and her Master of Science in social work from Columbia University. She has been licensed to practice as an independent clinical social worker since 2007. Jennifer is from Virginia and currently resides in Beijing.

Luo Guihua, Program Manager
Guihua is responsible for assisting domestic adoptive families with all pre and post-placement adoption services. She is in charge of screening inquiring families, coordinating the introduction of an orphan to an adoptive family and arranging orphanage or foster home visits. Guihua also accompanies families to orphanages and assists in the documentation processing between local orphanages and the government bureau. In addition, Guihua manages ABC's Education Program. She leads student recruitment efforts, liaises with orphanage directors, manages teacher and caregiver communication, and assists in the development of caregiver and volunteer training, and career services. Guihua graduated from Central University for Nationalities in Beijing with a Bachelors degree in philosophy.
 
Kaitlin Cheng, Education Manager
Kaitlin is responsible for overseeing the education initiatives at ABC. Driven by her passion for education, Kaitlin started her career as a language teacher at New Oriental Group in 2008 where she was promoted to Director of Studies for New Oriental in just two years.  Kaitlin expanded her focus to education in the fashion industry by joining HSGH fashion technology company.  Her fashion blog attracted more than 20,000 followers and thousands of daily visitors.  Kaitlin's compassion for children has led her back to education, where she's now serving orphans and migrant children. Kaitlin received her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Fudan University in Shanghai, and an Master of Arts in Marketing Communications from Emerson College in Boston.

Helen Ma, Foster Home Manager
Helen manages the daily care of the male teenage orphans in ABC's Dream program. She teaches them life skills, nurtures their emotional, mental and physical development, and closely monitors progress towards their goals.  She also leads weekly Youth Life Education classes covering topics such as marriage and family relationships, money management, conflict resolution, character development, identity formation and self-image. Helen previously worked as a mechanical engineer at the Sichuan Institute of Metallurgy, a state-run research institute, for more than 30 years.  In addition, she worked as a psychiatric counselor for more than 7 years.

Huibo Sun, Foster Home Manager
Huibo manages the daily care of the female teenage orphans in ABC's Dream Program. She teaches them life skills, nurtures their emotional, mental and physical development, and closely monitors progress towards their goals. Huibo studied acupuncture and graduated from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. She worked as an acupuncture therapist for 19 years and has many years of experience working with children.

Han Cheng Liang, Advisor and Executive Trainer
Han is in charge of computer science training for orphans in the DREAM Education Program. He is the co-founder and CEO of Fashion Republic Technologies, Inc., (HSGH.com), a fashion vertical community and search engine. Prior to starting this business, Han was head of online marketing and business development at TripAdvisor China, in charge of search engine marketing and optimization, online advertising and partnership development. Prior to this, he worked at various companies such as IBM, Goldman Sachs and Bluefin Trading LLC as an engineer, analyst and trader. Han has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master's degree in computer science from Columbia University. Han was born in Chang Chun, immigrated to and grew up in New York city, and now lives in Beijing.

Jason Zhai, Web Developer
Jason is in charge of ABC's web-site design and development. He updates our web-site with new content and syncs information from the web-site with with social media tools such as Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. Jason graduated from China Agriculture University with a degree in industrial design. He is from Beijing and currently lives in Beijing.

Liu Jinyi, Program Officer
Jinyi is responsible for assisting in programmatic planning and coordination of the arts, sports and teacher trainings in the TALENT (才) Program. She also supports with career planning in the DREAM (梦想) Education Program. Jinyi volunteered at the earthquake-stricken area of Sichuan for Psychological First Aid in 2008. She graduated from Chengdu University of Technology with a Bachelor’s in Law, and Durham University in UK with a Master’s in Social Work Studies.

Wang Qian, Program Assistant
Wang Qian is responsible for managing materials and assisting with planning of the arts, and sports classes for the TALENT (才) Program. She also provides administrative assistance for the CONNECT (牵手) and DREAM (梦想) Education Programs. She enjoys helping others and is devoted to working on developing education for underprivileged children. Wang Qian graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University Continuing Education College with a major in International Trade.

Xiaoyu Zhang, Program Manager
Xiaoyu is the program manager of the Dream + program which aims to develop cultural awareness, interpersonal and independent thinking skills in ABC students and migrant children. Xiaoyu also partners with ABC on marketing and volunteer partnerships. Xiaoyu is working at Baring Private Equity Asia, and before that, he was a financial analyst in Goldman Sachs. He graduated from Renmin University of China with a Bachelor of Science in engineering. He is from Beijing and currently lives in Beijing.

Brian Chew, IT
            
Brian joined ABC in 2007. He is responsible for managing information technology platforms for ABC. Previously, he was a software developer for Longs Drugs, where he designed and developed applications for order processing and distribution. In his free time, Brian volunteers time to teach underprivileged children. Brian graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Beijing.

Silae Kim, Translator and Korean content editor
Silae is one of ABC’s volunteers. She is in charge of translating ABC’s website and documents into Korean. Silae holds her master’s degree in Elementary Education. She loves working with children. Currently, Silae teaches at Hwarang Elementary School in Korea.
